Annual Progress Review

All seniors meet with their counselor individually throughout September and early October.  Discussion topics include:

• Review of transcript and progress toward graduation
• College/career/military plans
• For college-bound students:
  • Using Scoir for the college application process
  • Registration procedures for the fall administrations of the SAT & ACT
  • Reviewing the procedures for requesting letters of recommendation for college applications
  • Applying for financial aid  

College application materials (introduced in senior meetings)

• School Counselor Letter of Recommendation Survey (Use this form to request a letter of recommendation from your counselor)

College Fairs

During their junior meetings, students are instructed to come to their senior meetings in the fall with their list of the colleges they plan to apply to.  Seniors who are finalizing their lists in the fall are encouraged to attend one or both of the following events:

• Eastside College Fair at ESM:  Monday, September 28^th, 2026, 6:00pm – 8:00pm
• SUNY College Fair, hosted at OCC's SRC Arena:  Monday, October 5^th, 2026, 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

Athletes
Prospective college coaches may request a transcript.  However, NO transcripts are available to coaches without a signed athlete parent permission form (link) for students under 18 years old.
